A woman in Seattle has suggested that a McDonald’s employee spit in her iced tea.  The 47-year-old woman has shared her story with seattlepi.com.

“I feel violated.  I’m aware people fake stuff like this, but no amount of money will ever make it worth going through what I did and what I continue to go through every day.”

Oh, don’t stop reading.  This is where I get to the details.  Using “mucus” in a story is always a joy.  From the police report:

“As (the woman) and her group drove away from the restaurant, she took a drink of the iced tea she had purchased and felt a slimy substance enter her mouth. “(She) began to gag and had to pull her vehicle off to the side of the road.”

The newspaper story states that the woman and some friends were in Seattle to watch the New York Yankees play the Seattle Mariners.  My hunch?  The woman was decked out in all things Derek Jeter.  Yankee fans have a way about them.  Fear not.  The group saw the Mariners beat the Yankees 7-1 before they returned to the McDonald’s to file their complaint. 

According to the repsonse from a McDonald’s franchisee, “food safety and quality at my restaurant, is a top priority.  Rest assured, we take these matters seriously and investigate all allegations to gather the facts.”
