Can’t Mark McGwire Just Go Away?

First, he loaded up on steroids and bashed tons of home runs.

Then, he went in front of a congressional committee and made a fool of himself.  The Washington Post described him as “once the game’s most celebrated slugger but now the face of the steroid scandal, reduced to a shrunken, lonely, evasive figure whose testimony brought him to the verge of tears. ”

Then, he went away for almost five years until Tony LaRussa and the St. Louis Cardinals hired him to be their next batting coach.

Now, Dimwit Manager LaRussa has told the Contra Costa Times that he dreams about adding Mark McGwire to the Cardinals active roster in September if the Cards are in playoff contention.

“If we’re in contention, we’ll put him on the roster Aug. 31. It’s a nice little dream,”

Tony Larussa – you lost all sorts of respect when you made him your hitting coach.  Now you say this.  Shut up already before you say something you’ll really regret.  And, Mark McGwire – just go away.
