Tracy McGrady was in Chicago today to work out with the Bulls.  And, if you ask him, things went well.

“I’d fit in well. I bring what I know about the game and my athleticism and versatility. Knowing my smarts for the game, leadership, anything I can add to get these guys over the edge. Without me, without (Carlos) Boozer, they’re a .500 club. With the guys we added, we’ll be 30 better.”

Is that confidence or what?  What Should Derrick Rose think of that?  Joakim Noah and Luol Deng?  Do they take those comments to mean they are just average players who need his skill to push them over the top?

Tracy McGrady was once a star player.  Seven-time All-Star, as a matter of fact.  But, those days are long past.  Sure, he’s only 32.  But, it’s very unlikely he can ever return to the level he played at in his prime.  Sure, he could play a complimentary role for the Bulls as they try to overcome the pre-determined heavyweights, the Miami Heat.  I doubt he’d be the key ingredient to that success.
