And finally there’s this from ESPN’s @ErinAndrews. I don’t want to jump on any side of this, as I really didn’t watch the trial and cannot, without a doubt, say Casey Anthony did it or not. But, I’m going to write this Tweet off as a blond moment. For me, Casey Anthony was found innocent by a jury of her peers after days and days of evidence was presented. Ask Casey Anthony if she got “nothing” in terms of jail time. Three years have already been served for a crime she was found innocent of.

And then there’s the wives. Kevin Harvick’s wife, DeLana is insane. Her husband is driving nearly 200 mph and she’s tweeting at every turn.

And then the race ends and there’s this from “Kevin Harvick”.

He drove a bunch of laps at a bunch of speed and now he has to drive four hours slowly? Talk about road rage. I can’t imagine if someone driving 5 mph under the speed limit gets in front of him along the way.

As long as Darrell Waltrip doesn’t tweet that stupid “Boogity, Boogity, Boogity!” thing, I’m good.

Padraig Harrington committed a golf faux pas during the first round of the HBSC Championship in Abu Dhabi. An astute television viewer noticed that he had illegally moved his ball during the round. The TV viewer e-mailed European Tour officials to let them know what he saw. And, as a result, Harrington was disqualified after scoring a 65 and finishing the round in second place.

For the PGA, this is the second time this month that a television viewer has cost a top golfer a disqualification. In Hawaii, Camilo Villegas was kicked out of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at Kapalua, technically for signing an incorrect scorecard. The error occurred when a TV viewer observed him batting away a clump of grass caused by his chip shot. The problem was, his shot was still rolling at the time. That action results in a 2-stroke penalty, which he did not take. Thus, his scorecard was wrong.

Said golfer Dustin Johnson:

Fast forward to today, and everything has changed.  He’s no longer married.  He shares custody of his children.  And, Lee Westwood is now the best golfer in the world.  Tiger played golf this past year.  I think.  Not well, for sure. 

I’m not going to restate what has happened in Tiger’s life over the past year.  Unless we’ve spent the time in a coma, we pretty well know that he likes his women.  But now, Tiger is trying to resurrect his life (and popularity) via Twitter.

I’m just hoping that he doesn’t confuse his Tweets with his texts. If he starts tweeting his overtures to his girlfriends, things won’t go well.

[picappgallerysingle id="10088393"]All in all, it was a good day of golf for Ryuji Imada.  He finished 2-under-par.  That was until he assessed 26 penalty strokes for misunderstanding the rules at an exhibition tournament in China.  By rule, I think I’m required to mention him here at Dimwit Daily.  Said Imada,

“I’m an idiot.”

Had Imada read the rules sheet, he would have known that he was supposed to use the length of a scorecard as the distance he needed to replace his ball after picking it up, cleaning it and replacing it.  In PGA events, that distance is the length of a golf club.

The mixed-field event was won by a woman, Lorena Ochoa of Mexico.

[picappgallerysingle id="9815965"]Congratulations to Clint Bowyer for winning his first race in well over a year.  And, the timing was great!  He moved from 12th to 2nd in points, as the NASCAR season winds down.

But wait.

Today, the Bowyer team was docked 150 points for doing something bad with “build sheets”.  Bowyer’s winning car failed post-race inspection at the NASCAR Research and Development Center.   I’m not much for racin’-speak so I apologize if this is meant for adult audiences, but NASCAR vice president Robin Pemberton had asked them “…if they aren’t getting off on one of their build sheets.”

Whatever that is, it must be bad.

“As soon as we come off vacation, we’re going to cook that little yellow chump. We ain’t worried about that. So they ain’t gotta worry about me fighting the midget. Once I kick the midget ass, I don’t want you all to jump on my d—. So you all better get on the bandwagon now. … Once I stomp the midget, I’ll make that mother f—– make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice.”

Then, he apologized.

“I do want to apologize for what happened the other night. I want to apologize to everybody because everybody thought that it was a racist comment that I said. I don’t have a racist bone in my body. I have nothing but love for everybody.”

See.  It wasn’t him.  It was all of you.  Why would you think what he said was racist???  He’s not racist!  He said so himself.  He loves everyone!  Well, everyone except…..his ex-girlfriend.  Says the Las Vegas Police:

“She alleges he hit her. We’re looking for him to get his side of the story.  We’re looking to talk to him as a potential suspect.”

Today, some guy named Sam Querrey was the last American tennis player knocked out of our tournament. The US Open. Nowadays, Andy Roddick is probably the best-known US tennis player. Wake me when he wins something important.

There’s Mardy Fish. And Ryan Harrison. But these guys should feel guilty playing on Arthur Ashe court.

Back in the day, I loved watching men’s tennis. American men have obviously found better things to do with their time then play tennis. Perhaps the US Open should be moved to another country.
